Why we’re heading to LEARNTEC (and why you should, too)

If you work in assessments, learning, or anything in between, LEARNTEC is a no-brainer. It’s one of Europe’s biggest events for digital learning, and this year’s programme (6-8 May in Karlsruhe) is packed with talks on AI, performance support, and learning that actually works in the real world.

We’ll be there. You’ll find us in Hall 2, stand 25.

Assessments in the spotlight

We’ve combed through the convention programme so you don’t have to. While LEARNTEC covers everything from VR to onboarding, there’s a solid thread this year for anyone focused on assessments and certification.

These sessions stood out:

Fix The Work, Not The Worker
7 May, 10:45–11:30 – Convention Room 6/7
Tom McDowall and Bianca Baumann will be talking about performance support that actually makes a difference, hint: it’s not another generic quiz.

Boosting Engagement with Microlearning
7 May, 15:00–15:45 – Convention Room 6/7
Short, sharp, and effective. This one’s all about using microlearning in ways that stick, something every assessment provider can take a cue from.

Transforming Leadership with Generative AI
8 May, 10:45–11:30 – Convention Room 6/7
AI isn’t just for marking essays. This session explores how AI can deliver personalised feedback and coaching. Translate that into formative assessment and you’re onto something.

Building an AI Toolkit for Learning Professionals
8 May, 11:30–12:15 – Convention Room 6/7
Wil Procter and Bianca Baumann are back with practical tools, great if you’re exploring how AI can support authors, reviewers, or trainers.

Beyond the AI Hype
8 May, 15:00–15:45 – Convention Room 6/7
If you’ve had your fill of AI buzzwords, this one promises a reality check on how to use AI meaningfully to sustain engagement, something most assessments could use more of.

See Cirrus in action

We are not just at LEARNTEC to listen. We are there to show how assessment can be made simpler, smarter, and genuinely more manageable.

We will be giving live demos of Cirrus Assist at 11:00 on Tuesday 6 May and Wednesday 7 May, at our stand in Hall 2, stand 25.

Cirrus Assist supports item authors with practical AI tools that speed up the work without cutting corners. It is built to make good practice easier, not to replace it. No promises of instant miracles. Just thoughtful technology that knows when to step in and when to stay out of your way.

If you are curious about what practical support for high-quality assessments looks like, or if you simply want to talk about where assessment is heading, come and find us. We will be happy to show you.

Don’t miss the drinks

We’re also joining the drinks reception on Wednesday at 16:00 in the Dutch Innovation Lounge. If you’re around, come raise a glass with us.

Make time for Karlsruhe

It’s not just about the tech, Karlsruhe’s a brilliant host city. It’s compact, friendly, and surprisingly sunny (this time of year, we’re optimistic). Home to Germany’s first internet connection and the cutting-edge ZKM media centre, it’s got serious innovation credentials.

But it’s also got great parks, independent cafés and enough restaurants to keep you fuelled between sessions.

Our recommendations?

See you there?

Whether you are coming for the sessions, the technology, the conversations (or just the stroopwafels), we would love to meet you. You will find us in Hall 2, stand 25 throughout LEARNTEC, with live demos of Cirrus Assist on Tuesday and Wednesday at 11:00am.
