Great assessment is built on good decisions. Decisions about which items to keep and which to retire. Whether a cohort performed consistently with the last. Whether the evidence is strong enough to defend a result, satisfy a regulator or inform the next design cycle.
Assessment professionals make these decisions every day, and the quality of those decisions depends on how clearly they can see the data behind them. Cirrus Data & Insights was built to make that data easier to access, understand and act on.
What is Cirrus Data & Insights?
Data & Insights helps you get more value from your assessment data through two powerful capabilities, designed for different reporting needs:
- Data makes your Cirrus assessment data available in Power BI, Tableau, Excel and other analytics tools, allowing you to combine assessment results with wider business data.
- Insights enhances reporting in Cirrus with dashboards that help you explore and understand assessment data faster. It begins with Custom Insights, tailored dashboards built around your reporting requirements. Later this year, we’ll add Core Insights, a set of ready-made dashboards built around the metrics and trends that matter most to assessment teams.
Data: The bigger picture
Available now as an add-on, Data helps you link assessment outcomes to business outcomes. By combining Cirrus data with information from across your organisation, you can uncover trends, measure impact and make better-informed decisions.
Data makes your Cirrus data available in Power BI, Tableau, Excel and other PostgreSQL-compatible analytics tools. Your team can report in the platforms they already know and incorporate assessment data into existing reporting and business intelligence workflows. Built for analysis rather than live monitoring, Data refreshes on a regular schedule.
Data is for organisations that need to see assessment data in context. Connect Cirrus to finance data, operational performance, learner records, centre management and HR systems. Build reports that reveal where to invest, where to intervene and where your assessment programme is making a measurable difference.
Which business units are seeing the strongest assessment outcomes, and what are they doing differently? Are centres that invest more in preparation delivering better candidate outcomes, or just higher volumes? Are qualification outcomes consistent across regions, demographics and delivery methods, or is variation hiding in the aggregate numbers? These are the questions that Cirrus Data helps you answer.
Insights: Reporting without the complexity
Available under Reports in Cirrus, Insights adds dashboards designed to surface key trends, patterns and performance indicators at a glance. No BI tool required, no data exports, and always up to date. Where Data powers deeper analysis in your own reporting tools, Insights helps you answer everyday assessment questions in seconds.
It begins with Custom Insights, available now as an add-on. Designed around your organisation’s reporting needs, Custom Insights helps you answer the questions that matter most, without building and maintaining reports yourself.
Your Customer Success Manager works with you to create dashboards tailored to your data and reporting requirements, which appear directly in your Insights area.
Quickly answer questions like: Which approved centres consistently produce the strongest outcomes? Is repeat assessment improving performance, or simply extending the journey to the same result? Which items are putting assessment quality at risk? For governance and regulatory reporting, dashboards can be built around exactly the measures that matter to your organisation.
Later this year, we’ll introduce Core Insights, included for every Cirrus customer. While Custom Insights is tailored to your organisation’s specific reporting needs, Core Insights provides a set of ready-made dashboards covering the metrics and trends that matter most across assessment delivery, candidate performance and item quality. Core Insights will be organised into three tabs:
- Overview gives you the headline numbers across your platform: total candidates, assessments, pass rates, average scores, and time utilisation. If a pass rate has shifted unexpectedly between sittings, this is where you see it first.
- Psychometrics is where item quality comes into focus. P values plotted against RIT and RIR correlations, item by item. If an item has been underperforming across multiple sittings, this tab surfaces it before it becomes a problem.
- Candidates focuses on participation and behaviour. First attempts versus resits, average scores by attempt, top participants by total volume. If a cohort is struggling in ways that aggregate results would not reveal, the pattern is visible here.
